Should I delete my Kernel Module because it is causing my Windows Vista to Display a BlueScreen/Crash or what?
My Windows Vista Crashes like 5 times a day and I finally caught something about Kernel at the top right before it crashed... I searched using the Start Menu the word Kernel and got "Gather Kernel Data and "kernel Module is this the source of my problem? Should I delete it? What? Please Help.
NO, you certainly do NOT want to do that!
There are many reasons for a computer to crash, but the two most common are overheating and bad or conflicting drivers. I'll tell you about both and what to try to do.
If your computer crashes after running about the same time, no matter what program it’s running, then that’s a good indication that you’re having overheating problems. If, very soon after a crash, it crashes again while still warm, that is another indication of overheating.
One way to verify this diagnosis is to open up the side of your case and direct a fan into it. If the computer runs longer before it crashes, then that’s a confirmation that it’s an overheating problem, because the fan is helping to cool things off.
Often, overheating is caused by accumulated dust inside the case. You can get a can of compressed air and blow out all the dust. If it still overheats, then you may need a larger cpu fan, or even water-cooling, which is what the overclocker's often use to keep their computers cool.
Drivers are software that tells windows how to communicate with the particular hardware in a computer. They are dependent on both the hardware and the operating system, so you need the drivers for the configuration that you have.
You can try to do a System Restore back to a time before you were having problems.
IMHO, however, the best thing to do is to download and install all the latest drivers for your computer, from the manufacturer(s) of your hardware. Video, audio, networking, chipset, whatever. Go to the website and search for drivers or support. Then look for the particular piece of hardware that you have. And make sure that it is written for your current operating system. Follow the directions to download and install the drivers.
BTW, the "kernel" is the core of the operating system, like the kernel of corn. The inside. The most basic part. I doubt that you could delete the kernel if you wanted to, but if you could, you would trash your operating system.

IMHO, however, the best thing to do is to download and install all the latest drivers for your computer, from the manufacturer(s) of your hardware. Video, audio, networking, chipset, whatever. Follow the directions to download and install the drivers.
BTW, the "kernel" is the core of the operating system, like the kernel of corn. The inside. The most basic part. I doubt that you could delete the kernel if you wanted to, but if you could, you would trash your operating system.
