Is there an interest rate limit that California banks can charge for a loan when you have money to cover the loan in their bank? I thought I'd heard it was 1% over the rate they pay you to use your money.
While I am not positve about the law in California, I seriously doubt any state has such a law.
You cash on deposit might be collateral for a loan, but while you might get a better interest rate than an unsecured loan, the bank would want a better return than a mere 1%.
